Lawyers: Become a book author in one hour

Nothing shouts “expert” louder than having your own book.
You immediately set yourself apart from your competitors, have a lead magnet that pulls in prospective clients, and increase your visibility and recognition without having to sell yourself.
But books take months and frequently years to write and edit. Most of the nearly 250 law books we have published over the last 40 years took 3+ years to complete.
ChatGPT has changed the process.
Now by using our custom GPTs to rewrite relevant portions of our 100,000+ pages of practitioner-drafted content, and adding the result to the information that you provide in a one-hour interview, in weeks instead of years we can create a custom, high-quality, and educational 100-page 6×9 softcover on a specialty-specific topic that appeals to your client base.
Details in my video and below.
How we create your custom book
Building your book is a five-step process:

1. Title and outline. First we suggest a half dozen potential titles and taglines. After you select one of our topic ideas or provide your own, we send you a suggested table of contents with questions we will pose in an interview.

2. Interview. Our veteran attorney-editors will schedule a one-hour recorded Zoom session with you at a mutually acceptable time, during which we will obtain your answers to our questions plus any other content you want to provide.

3. Manuscript. We transcribe, edit, and organize the content you provided, and supplement it with our own content. We use a GPT loaded with our thousands of law book pages in your specialty, and guide the GPT to create original, consumer-oriented versions of our practitioner-drafted and attorney-edited material.

4. Branding. We design a front cover, and provide descriptive content for the back page. We use your photo and bio to create an About the Author section.

5. Review and printing. We send everything to you to look over, and make any changes you request. Upon approval, we obtain printed copies and ship them to your office. We also email you a PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many printed copies are included?

Our price includes a dozen printed copies. You can print more using the PDF we provide, or we can add copies to our initial print run at our cost plus 10%.

How long does the production process take?

Our work takes us about six weeks to complete. Add another week to schedule your interview, and another week for your review of our manuscript, for a total of 8 weeks on average.

Do I have a say in the book’s title and its cover design?
You pick the title, either from a half dozen that we suggest or by providing your own title.  We supply a suggested cover design when we send over the completed manuscript for review.  You are welcome to recommend changes to the cover, as well as make revisions to the manuscript.
What specialties do you have practitioner-drafted content for?

Asset protection, bankruptcy, business litigation, criminal law, drunk driving, employment law, estate planning, family law, personal injury, and Social Security disability.

How can I use my book?

Display it in your office, offer it on your website, promote it on social media, sell it on Amazon, link to it in your lead-nurturing series, and give it to referral sources.  We can help with promotion, though we have to charge extra for that work.

Do I own the rights to my book?

Yes, 100%.  And we put that in writing.

May I repurpose the book’s content, say for blog posts, webinars, etc.?

Definitely.  The book and its content belong to you.

Do you use ChatGPT?

Yes, but only to rewrite the content that we provide.  We have over 100,000 pages of practitioner-drafted content that we have GPTs redirect for consumers.  Every book we create is 100% custom and based on a combination of our GPT-rewritten law book content and the information we receive from you.

What portion of the book does my content comprise?

On average 20 pages out of a 100-page book are specific to you and your practice.  We typically begin each book with an FAQ section and end with a conclusion provided 100% by you in our Zoom session.  We also draft an About the Author section and finish the book with a pitch to retain your firm.

May I edit your writing before publication?

Yes.  We send you the finished manuscript for review and approval before printing any copies.  For efficiency we ask that you provide all your changes in one batch.
