At what percentage pace is your firm currently growing?
[6:30] “We were fortunate. We did very well the first year. It was one of my best years ever financially since becoming an attorney. It’s scary when you leave a guaranteed paycheck, but luckily it worked out.”
[6:48] “What I’m most proud of is that we doubled our revenue in year two. Now we’re about halfway into year three and growing a little less than a doubling pace. I don’t expect to double my revenue every year, but we’re heading in the right direction, that’s for sure.”
What’s fueling that growth? How are you marketing the firm? How are most of your clients finding you now?
[7:29] “It differs based on the type of case. For personal injury I have tinkered with boosted Facebook and Instagram posts. But I’ve gotten better results with organic social media and can’t remember the last time I paid to boost a post.”
[8:00] “So the personal injury cases are all organic. They are either going to come through my family and friends network that I’ve created, or through me getting the word out with free social media.”
[8:13] “I get most of my criminal cases from paid advertising. I use Google Local Service Ads, which have been very successful. It’s a different model for criminal with Local Service Ads. An ad that costs me $200 in criminal will cost $2,000 in personal injury. So I decided I’m not even going to compete with the big advertisers in the personal injury realm.”
You have more than 36,000 TikTok followers, and you’re on Instagram and YouTube. Tell us about your start on social media.
[9:30] “I had to jump out of my comfort zone because I’m an introverted person. My friends and my wife would tell you that I’m pretty quiet. But I knew that in order to get business, I had to become comfortable telling people what I did. I forced myself to do that early on.”
[10:01] “Initially I was doing a lot of videos about basic questions that clients repeatedly ask. I have a file of those questions and other topics would pop into my head.”
[10:31] “I started with Instagram, but then saw TikTok taking off. I realized I was either going to jump on it or get left behind. With TikTok I tried a more entertaining approach rather than just straight legal videos and a couple of them took off. It happened overnight with one video and then snowballed from there.”
[11:27] “In general, the content that I make is either educational or entertaining. It is best if it can be both.”
Tell us about your first viral video. What was it about?
[11:48] “I do a lot of reaction videos. I was on YouTube one day and saw this hilarious video of a drunk guy on a construction lift who was acting crazy in a likable way. I did a reaction video to it, but rather than talk I used captions to express my thoughts. It just took off. I had a hundred followers at that point and that video ended up generating over 300,000 views. I was up to 10,000 followers within days.”
Lawyer reacts videos are easy to shoot.
[13:30] “They are, and they don’t need to be polished to take off. I’m not a tech person or videographer. You can begin with a video that is already being watched. Then you put your own legal spin on it and next thing you know you’re rolling.”
It’s actually better to not be polished, right?
[14:37] “Absolutely. What is most important is being authentic, being yourself, and not trying to do too much. The more often you post, the better chance you have of something taking off.”
Method 2
Have us generate your social media leads
Our approach to obtaining qualified leads from social media provides you 4 big advantages:
1. No video shoots.
Using AI, we create a clone of your appearance and voice that is so lifelilke your family and friends will not be able to tell the difference. We then have the clone deliver engaging educational scripts that you pre-approve.
2. Audience growth.
To secure more video views and add followers, we boost the most popular of the videos we produce for you.
3. No additional ad cost.
Both the boosting for audience growth and the ads used to generate leads are paid for by us. Your monthly fee covers everything.
4. Pre-qualified phone appointments.
The leads we obtain answer 5 qualifying questions and then schedule phone appointments with your intake person.
Unlike Google ad leads who know nothing about you and likely clicked multiple ads, the leads we send to you have watched your videos, want to work with you, and have provided background information in advance.
Our done-for-you Growth Amplifier service costs $1,995/month, which includes our ad spend. You may cancel anytime after 3 months. Leads begin flowing in Month 2, and sometimes in Month 1.
